Is there really no charge if you don't recover detention pay?

Correct. Detention claims are success-fee only. If the broker doesn't pay the detention claim, you owe nothing on that claim — no filing fee, no kill fee, no minimum. We eat the cost of the work. The only paid-upfront claim types are TONU, lumper, and rate-discrepancy, which run on a flat $5 documentation fee instead of a percentage.

When do you charge the 15-25% commission?

After the broker pays. We file the claim, follow up, collect the funds, and then take our commission out of the recovered amount. You see what was recovered, what we kept, and what's headed to you on every claim. Nothing is charged until the money actually lands.

Why is there a $5 fee for TONU, lumper, and rate-discrepancy claims?

Those claim types are paid-or-denied on the spot — they don't have the long collection tail that detention does, and the dollar amounts are smaller and tighter. A $5 flat documentation fee covers the work to file the claim (parsing the rate-con, building the proof packet, sending it to the broker) regardless of whether the broker ultimately approves it. We charge upfront so the economics work even on smaller claims.

What happens if I cancel?

Walk away anytime. No long-term contract, no exit fee, no minimum term. Any in-flight detention claims we already filed continue under the same commission terms — if those claims recover after you cancel, you still get the recovered amount minus our 15-25%. If they don't recover, you owe nothing.

Can I see how much I'll be charged before approving a claim?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every claim shows the claim amount, our commission rate based on the tier (25% under $200, 20% on $200-$500, 15% over $500 for detention), the dollar commission, and the net amount headed to you. You approve before we send it to the broker. No surprises after the fact.

How do you collect the commission — separate bill or deducted?

Deducted from the recovered amount. The broker pays the full claim to us, we keep our commission, and the net amount goes to your account on file. You never get a separate invoice for our fee. For flat-fee claims (TONU, lumper, rate-discrepancy), the $5 is billed upfront before we file.

Do you accept owner-operators or only larger fleets?

Both. No minimum fleet size, no volume requirement, no separate pricing for owner-operators versus larger fleets. The same 15-25% detention commission and $5 flat fees apply whether you run one truck or a thousand. Detention recovery should be available to every carrier.
